Shimmer Book Launch, Riverside, CA

Judy Kronenfeld has given or participated in more than 115 readings and presentations—some of which combine memoir with poetry—mostly in Southern California, but also in Delaware and Maryland. She has been a featured poet at such SoCal venues as The Rose Café (Venice), Moonday East (Flintridge), The Ugly Mug (Orange), Cafe Alibi (Pasadena), The Palm Springs Art Museum, The Palm Springs Bookfest, the dA Center for the Arts (Pomona), The Open Door Books Poetry Series (San Diego), Laguna Poets (Laguna Beach), The Claremont Library Poetry Series, The Riverside Public Library, The Glen Avon Public Library, Pitzer College, The University of California, Irvine, The University of California, Riverside, California State University San Bernardino, California State University Fullerton, Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, Riverside City College, and several Borders’ Bookstores. In the East, she has featured at the 2nd Saturday Poetry Series (Hockessin, DE) and at The Writer’s Center (Bethesda, MD). She is the featured poet in Episode 11 of Speaking of Poetry, hosted by Rennie McQuilken.
Judy speaks personally and meaningfully about her experience as a first-generation American and how she returned to writing poetry. It is particularly enlightening to learn about her process of writing and the background for some of her deeply-felt poems. Many in the audience—a group of older professional women—commented she was the best, most inspiring speaker for the year.”  – Vicki Broach, Program Chair, UCR Affiliates

Listening to [Judy] read her poems was an intensely emotional, electric experience for me, so I wanted to learn more about this writer.”  –Robbi Nester, “Poetry Performance and Communication: An Interview with Judy Kronenfeld,” in Switchback.
